Tenant Talks Team Leads Sessions on Safety
Share this story
We welcomed more than 50 residents to two Tenant Talks sessions in May. We heard that you wanted to talk about community safety, so Dan Wright, Manager of CSS Operations Administration, and Chris Strotmann, Manager of Community Safety Services Operations, hit the road, stopping at 160 Charlotte St. and 1455 Clementine Blvd. to share information and receive feedback.
The sessions, held on May 9 and 15, were an opportunity for the Community Safety Services team to share their commitment to tenants:
- Being present and approachable in the community
- Responding to tenant & community concerns related to safety & security
- Working in collaboration with tenants and community partners
- Adopting a community-based problem-solving approach
By the numbers:
In 2023, CSS responded to 45,231 calls. Chris and Dan shared information about the top calls, such as loitering, premise checks and parking complaints. The team works 24/7.
How many people work on the team?

What we are doing
- The Community Safety Services team is working on a project to patrol high-needs communities proactively, which means they check in communities with more calls. But don’t wait for an active call to visit.

Who to Call
Dan reminded residents to call security (613-731-1182, Option 1) so the team knows where to focus resources. He also shared the numbers for the emergency (911) and non-emergency police lines (613-236-1222, extension 7300) and Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-8477).
